Rotolito is proud to announce the successful completion of the sPRINT project, a dual training program dedicated to the role of Printing Machine Operator, developed through a collaboration between Rotolito, Gi Group, Nava Press, CNOS-FAP Milan, ITS Academy Angelo Rizzoli, and the Salesian Graphic School of Milan.
Upon completion of the program, four young talents were hired at the Pioltello production site as printing operators and production assistants: a tangible result that demonstrates how training can truly become a bridge between the skills required by the market and the aspirations of new generations.
A growing industry facing a skills shortage
The Paper and Printing supply chain is one of the flagships of Made in Italy: over 16,000 companies, 160,000 employees, and a production value that exceeded €27 billion in 2023. Yet companies in the sector are facing an increasing challenge: the difficulty of finding specialized profiles capable of managing increasingly advanced, interconnected, and sustainability-oriented production processes.
It is in response to this skills mismatch that sPRINT was created: a post-diploma IFTS program with a first-level apprenticeship, designed to bridge the gap between school and the world of work, between theory and practice, between young people and industry.
Rotolito: the future starts here too
The success of the sPRINT project lies not only in the numbers, but in the method: free training, an apprenticeship contract from day one, a school–work alternation model, and a program tailor-made to meet the needs of Industry 4.0. Topics such as industrial logistics, quality control, production processes, sustainability, and the green economy were addressed through an experiential approach, supported by coaching, discussion, and personal development opportunities.
Above all, Rotolito made a difference as a training-oriented company—opening the doors of its production plant, providing technologies, tutors, and know-how, and promoting a corporate culture capable of engaging new generations. Because spreading knowledge, inspiring new vocations, and creating real opportunities are an integral part of our corporate mission and our commitment to social sustainability.
A sustainable supply chain starts with people
Investing in training means investing in the future.
The four new hires in Pioltello are not just a milestone, they are a strong signal of the direction we intend to pursue.
Supporting youth employability, enhancing technical professions, and helping to build a more inclusive, aware, and well-prepared printing supply chain.
Together with our partners, we will continue to develop projects like sPRINT, capable of transforming young people’s potential into value for the entire visual arts and printing technology sector.
